Vienna Contemporary. Sept. 26-30th. Booth: Galerie Michalea Stock.

This is the sixth edition from the VAL (Vehicles for Another Landscape) series that confiscates our childhood toys, games and safety devices and flips them into diabolical apparatus to challenge the infrustructures of language and architecture built to instate order in our lives.

The sculpture is a hexigonal structure made of dence laminated panel board. I enter it through one of the 6 portholes at each end. As I traverse towards and then past the center, one of the sculpture's highest pods will dip to the floor causing it to rotate. The title "Six ways from Sundy makes for a full week", is cut into the 24 sides in Braille. These holes are the eye, hand and foot holes to help me navigate through the space of the booth/fair.

This is a model in a slightly smaller scale of the VAL (Vehicles for Another Landscape). Six friends carried a section to the historic Augarten, Vienna in May. Weighing a mere 4kg it was commandeered by children in the park and transformed it into an interactive public sculpture/performance. Creating momentary monuments unlike the large foreboding structure in the background.
